For children, in simple words
Your writing practice stays on this device. We do not ask you to tell us your real name, where you live, or what you believe. A grown-up can help you change or delete your saved practice.
What the app keeps
On your device, the app saves an optional nickname, a chosen avatar, scene, writing script, pronunciation, language and sound preferences, and completed-character practice records with practice dates. Use a nickname instead of a child’s full name. For replay, the app keeps the actual timed strokes of the final completed writing attempt and Playground pages you choose to save: up to 12 drawings per child, with at most 64 strokes and 16,000 samples per drawing. Older drawings are replaced. Rejected practice strokes are not saved. The app does not ask for or grade religious beliefs, prayers or story answers. Free drawings can contain whatever the child draws; avoid private information.
What we do not collect
The app has no account system, advertising, analytics SDK, social feed or cloud sync. LampBotics does not receive the local profiles, writing records or audio-button activity. Character audio and stories are bundled in the app; playing them does not send requests to a speech or AI service. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
Your controls and retention
In Grown-ups → Privacy and family data, you can rename the active child, view or copy a machine-readable JSON export, delete one child, or delete all family data. Erasure also replaces the app’s old recovery copies so deleted profiles cannot return through backup recovery. Saved drawings can be deleted individually after the grown-up gate; resetting practice also removes that child’s drawings. Other local data stays until you delete it or remove the app. GIF export requires the grown-up gate and your choice of destination in the system file picker. The destination may be a cloud service you use; LampBotics does not receive the export. GIFs contain the drawing, with no automatically added nickname or profile identifier. Deleting app data cannot delete exported copies. Your operating system may include app data in device backups. Copies in those backups, exported files or a synced clipboard are controlled by you and your device provider, not by the app. Manage or remove them separately.
Website and support messages
The website has no signup form, advertising or embedded analytics, and its code sets no cookies or browser-storage identifiers. A hosting provider still receives connection details such as IP address, requested page and browser information to deliver and protect the website. The supplied deployment uses Cloudflare Pages. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. Please write as a parent or guardian and avoid sending children’s full names, photos or unnecessary personal details.
Purposes, legal grounds and service providers
Local settings and progress make the learning features you choose work on your device; they are not used for marketing or decisions with legal effects. For personal data that LampBotics receives, we use legitimate interests to provide a secure website and respond to support requests, and legal obligation when handling legally required requests. Where the law requires consent for an additional feature, we will ask before enabling it. Hosting and email providers process the information needed for those services under appropriate arrangements. Cloudflare and email services may process data outside the EEA; applicable transfer safeguards and provider terms must be in place. Apple, Google, device backup providers and TestFlight may separately process store, backup or diagnostic data under their own notices.
How long other information is kept
We aim to remove support correspondence within 90 days after the matter is closed, unless a longer period is needed for a legal obligation or a specific unresolved issue. Website connection and security information follows the hosting provider’s service-specific retention and security requirements; contact us for the applicable information. We do not build a visitor profile or combine website visits with children’s app records.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent where consent is used. Contact contact@lampbotics.com. We normally respond within one month and explain any permitted extension. We may need proportionate information to verify a parent’s authority. We cannot retrieve local app data remotely; the in-app controls let you manage and export it yourself. You may complain to your local data protection authority. No consent-based child account or online child-data collection is part of this release.
Security and changes
The app uses the operating system’s app storage area and does not add a separate encryption layer to local records. Protect shared devices with their built-in lock and account controls. Exported JSON and clipboard copies are readable personal data. No service can promise perfect security. We will update this notice when the product changes; new collection or online features require a fresh privacy assessment and notice before launch.
